So, this show is happening right now at my school, the great University of Texas, in the Visual Arts Center. It is a show called Queer States, featuring queer artists from around the state. It has caused several heated debates about queerness, most of which ignore the important issues and dwell on the insignificant. Even the review from Glasstire I posted don’t get it right, and boils queer topics down to “some gays don’t like femme guys, but sure love Lady Gaga.” Also, none of their photos are worth a damn.
I guess it is important for queer art to be shown, but I would much prefer it to be mine.
